Edith Hall

Aberdeenshire Rugby Club

Is something very real

To all us girls involved with it

Here's just how we feel!

You meet this young and handsome lad

He may ask you out to lunch

He charms his way into your heart

And then there comes the crunch.

"Would you like to come on Saturday

To watch the game, my dear

Oh, I'll be there, I have to play

And then we'll have a beer!"

That's it - you're hooked - the fight is lost

To the game with the oval ball

You watch in rain, or snow or frost

And smell the kit bag in the hall.

The strip that started Red and Black

Is now ingrained with muck

He knows that when he gets it back

It will be clean - with luck!

For many years they wandered

A nomadic life they led

At Mannofield they rested

At Woodside they laid their head.

So now they're home, here comes the rub

Their play is brave and bold

We ladies cook and clean and scrub

And do what we are told!!
